Why Do I Have Mice?

Mice will enter your home in search of food, shelter, or possibly a mate. Mice will consume just about anything they can which presents a problem if there is a sustainable food source. This can lead to mice nesting in your home which attracts other mice due to pheromones. If your home or business is left a mess or if there is garbage left out, these are good reasons for mice to come take shelter close by. They will also seek shelter when it starts to get cold out so call a licensed mice control technician to come help fortify access points.

Mice Treatment Options

Inspection

Finding evidence of mice helps our technicians determine the best plan of action to ensure we can exterminate your mice problem. Inspection helps locate areas where traps and baits will be most effective and helps determine which species of mice we are trying to eliminate.

Mice Exclusion

Mice exclusion is necessary because builders will leave entry points that need to be sealed up to stop mice from accessing your home. All in One will find and close off any access points into your home to maintain a mice and disease-free home for you and your family. Windows and doors will also need to be mice proofed and closed in the evenings when mice are most active to prevent access.

Mice Baits

Strategically placing chemical poisons out for mice is designed to infect mice with a deadly dose of rodenticide. Having a licensed rodent control technician help implement these bait systems will prevent accidental exposure to non-target animals like pets.

Mice Traps

Mice traps should be placed in areas where mice are likely traverse in search of food. These traps are effective when placed properly and will keep mice accessible for easy removal. Sticky traps will have to be replaced but snap traps can be reused and placed again.

Mice Sanitation

Once mice have been in your home, they leave an odor that attracts other mice. All in One cleans and sanitizes all areas infected by mice waste. We utilize commercial grade disinfectant that will remove any bacteria or disease that the mice may have left behind. After our mice sanitation treatment your home or business will be mice and disease free.

Mice Bait Boxes

Our rodent professionals will place bait boxes around your property to ensure the entire mice population has been cleared. We will check them regularly to verify the problem is gone.

Mice Information

House mice are small grey rodents that grow to about 2 inches in length. They are active all year round, but mice will come into a home or business when temperatures start to drop, and food becomes scarce. They are excellent climbers, and they can fit into just about any available access point including the space under your door. Deer mice prefer to create nests in barns and sheds and can be carriers for hantavirus which can be spread by their waste. Both species can cause significant property destruction because mice will chew on just about anything in search of food. They can produce over 100 babies every year with litters as frequent as 1 month apart. If you find evidence of mice, you should call All in One to have a pest control technician inspect your home or business.

Signs of Mice

Mice Droppings – Mice waste is usually the most apparent sign of a mice problem. These dark pellets tend to be found in mice pathways and under furniture. These pellets will build up quickly and the odor may prompt an investigation if they are left unnoticed.

Rub Marks – Mice follow the same paths which eventually leaves streaks of dirt and grease along baseboards. Signs of these rub marks are usually a good indicator of where to place a snap or sticky trap.

Gnawed Areas – Mice will eat anything in their path when searching for food. This includes plastics and drywall. If you find signs of little holes with serrated edges, this is usually a sign of mice chewing their way through.

Mice Nests – Mice will find undisturbed areas to nest like inside wall cavities, attics, crawl spaces, and cupboards. They will use soft materials like newspaper, bedding, and insulation to create a nest. If there are places where soft materials like bedding are stored, be sure to check them periodically for mice nests.

Scratching Sounds – Mice are nocturnal and use the inside of walls to travel around houses safely. If mice have infested your home, it is common to hear sounds like scratching and grinding come from within the wall.

Mice FAQs

  • How do pest companies get rid of mice?

All in One strategically places mice traps and bait traps in a way that is designed to catch and eliminate your mice problem. Our integrated pest management approach helps prevent future mice exposure with exclusion methods.

  • How long does it take for pest control to get rid of mice?

The time it takes to eliminate mice is largely dependent on the size of the mice infestation. Taking care of just a few mice could take a couple days but ensuring that mice activity stops can take a couple weeks. If it is a large infestation, efforts should return results that show diminished activity quickly, but full extermination could take some time.

  • Is pest control worth it for mice?

Where there is one mouse, there is often several. While this might not always be the case, having All In One’s regular service help monitor for mouse activity is a great way to minimize the possibility of an infestation. Our mouse free guarantee helps ensure that any time mice come back, so do our mice exterminators.
